Squared and Strengthend Piles 2/7/2012

Stepping back out on site to have all the piles dug, leveled and boxing sitting in each. Todays task was to straighten the outside piles, find our proper perimeter, square off and level every pile box. We were set off into groups, our group went around and measured each pile hole, finding out if they were to deep/high with the dumpy. The ones that were out were soon fixed and progress was being made. With the bottom left pile, we ran a builders line up along the back to find our true mark. From there we could use that as a guide and measure everything off that. Making sure that we put markers in the corners under the string 10mm. With the outside perimeter all measured and squared up. We then laid timber end to end, nailing them to make a long straight line. It was then place on the outside of the piles to keep them staright and give them strength for when the concrete is poured. Lines of timber were placed on both sides. 300mm excess over the edges, 100mm from the piles was scored and a 12mm hole was drilled where a rebar peg was driven into the ground for more support. Line by line the timber was laid, scored, drilled and secured. The piles were then tacked to the timber lines. We were set to have the concrete poured the next day. An empty container had been dropped off so all the tools and equiptment could stay on site.
